Humanoid robots in China have just beaten human runners in a Beijing half marathon, with the fastest racer finishing in 50 minutes. The win marks a sharp turnaround from last year, when many robots struggled.

A humanoid robot broke the half-marathon world record while competing against thousands of human runners.

This year's half-marathon hosted more than 100 competitors, with first place going to Honor, better known for its smartphones, and its red-clad robot named Lightning.
