Master's with Thesis Option Students are encouraged to form the thesis committee and submit the thesis proposal at the beginning of their research work. But no later than 6 months before graduation.

Proposal must be at least one year before the final defense, since this shows the feasibility of the project and the committee’s buy in. Needs to be addressed in the yearly meeting with student.
