The Wentletraps are small conical shells with strong whorls that form a high and distinct rib-like ridges. The aperture is round / oval and there is no siphonal canal . These snails prefer to live in deep water offshore, but their shells are often occupied by hermit crabs. The shell is mostly white less than 2 inches long and exude a pink or purplish dye.
